Barcelona has an international airport which is an important European hub with nearly 400 routes and 87 airlines.

Barcelona–El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport (BCN) offers a large number of national and international connections and its location 10 km to Barcelona and 20 km to Sitges facilitates the arrival to the conference.

There are the following options for the transfer between Barcelona Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and Hotel Melià Sitges:

Transfer by train

  • The Airport’s train station is at Airport’s Terminal 2. If you are arriving at Barcelona Terminal 1, take the free Shuttle Bus from the Terminal 1 and get off the bus at the stop Terminal 2B. Next, follow the signage for Rodalies until arriving at the train station.
  • Take the train R2 Nord until the stop El Prat. Rate: 4,20€
  • On El Prat stop change to line R2 Sud direction Sant Vicenç de Calders. Get off the train at Sitges station.
  • To get to Hotel Melià Sitges from there, you can walk 17 minutes or take the SL3 R. Llopart – Col.legi E. Barrachina bus at the Estació – Artur Carbonell stop. The bus stop is located in front of train station. Take the bus SL3 and get off the bus four stops later at Hotel Melià Sitges. Every 15 minutes. Rate: 1,50€.

Transfer by bus

  • The Bus Stop is at Airport’s Terminal 1. If you are arriving at Barcelona Terminal 2, take the free Shuttle Bus from the Terminal 2 and get off the bus at the stop Terminal 1.
  • Take the bus of the Mon-Bus company from the Terminal 1 Airport direction to Camping Vilanova Park (Vilanova i la Geltrú). Get off the bus at the bus stop Parc Can Robert T. Rate: 7,10€ (Tickets should be purchased inside the bus).
  • To get to Hotel Melià Sitges from there, you can walk 22 minutes or take the SL3 R. Llopart – Col.legi E. Barrachina bus at the Estació – Artur Carbonell stop.
  • To reach this bus stop, head south on Passeig de Vilafranca toward Carrer Salvador Mirabent. Turn left onto Carrer Salvador Mirabent and go straight on. At the end of this street, turn left onto Avinguda d’Artur Carbonell and the bus stop is on the right. Take the bus SL3 and get off the bus four stops later at Hotel Melià Sitges. Every 15 minutes. Rate: 1,50€.

Transfer by taxi

By train

Barcelona Sants Train Station is the primary train station for national and international arrivals and departures. Situated in the west of the city, it is easily reached by bus, taxi or metro (L5 and L3 have a stop there).

Barcelona has direct railway links with important European cities, including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, and the high-speed train runs to Madrid, southern and eastern Spain.

There are the following options for the transfer between Barcelona Sants Station and Hotel Melià Sitges:

Transfer by train

  • At the Barcelona Sants Station, take the train R2 or R2 Sud direction Sant Vicenç de Calders. Get off the train at Sitges station. Rate: 4,20€

  • Head to Arc de Triomf Train Station, take the train R1 or R4 direction L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. On Barcelona Sants stop change to line R2 or R2 Sud direction Sant Vicenç de Calders. Get off the train at Sitges station. Rate: 4,20€

By car

Sitges is well connected by the motorway and road network. Therfore, you will be able to arrive from anywhere by car.

Due to its proximity, Barcelona is the main access route to Sitges. It is found a mere 38 km away, which means a 40-45 minute journey.

Naturally, it is also possible to arrive from any other place. Next, you can find the most advisable route by car if you are arriving at Sitges from:

From the North

  • You have to go to Barcelona.
  • After leaving the city from south take the C-31 motorway towards Castelldefels and then change onto the C-32 motorway.
  • Take exit 30 towards Rambla de Sitges. At the first roundabout take the first exit towards Ctra. Barcelona a Calafell.
  • At the second roundabout, take the third exit towards Avinguda d’Emerencià Roig i Raventós.
  • You will find the hotel on the right.

From the West or South

  • You have to go to Sant Vicenç de Calders onto AP7 motorway.
  • Then take exit 31 for C-32 motorway towards El Vendrell.
  • Continue onto C-32 motorway and take exit 31 to merge onto C-31 motorway towards Sitges Nord.
  • At the first roundabout take the first exit towards Ctra. Barcelona a Calafell. At the second roundabout, take the third exit towards Avinguda d’Emerencià Roig i Raventós.
  • You will find the hotel on the right.
